5 Awkward Questions That Every Parent Dreads

Mother’s are Superheroes. That’s a fact. They don’t have 9 to 5 jobs where clocking in and out is easy (gone are the good ol’days). They are on call 24/7. In fact, if you saw the following job advert, would you actually apply? I think not. Motherhood is incredibly rewarding, but let’s face it, it’s also bloody knackering. Mums often have real ‘full time jobs’ as well as having to deal with all of the above. Their brains are frazzled. Then as soon as your little ones learn to talk, the tricky questions begin and your already frazzled brain becomes even more worn out with the never-ending stream of; why?…

Why The Exhausted Mum Recommends Smiffle.com For Personalised Photo Products

18 summers, that’s all we get until our precious children are officially adults. That seems like such a short amount of time, with so many special memories we have to capture. Everyone who knows me, or even those that don’t but who are interested in my blog and who follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, will know that I am forever trying to capture the moment. As a result and like most parents, I have HUNDREDS of photos of my children on my iPhone. It’s impossible to even put up a fraction of my favourite photos around my house as there simply wouldn’t be enough wall space, or it…

6 Reasons Why Parents Are Permanently Exhausted

Before I had children, I never understood how exhausting parenting would be. Of course, everyone has friends who had children before them, but let’s be perfectly honest, we still never completely appreciated how bloody exhausting it would be, or that their never-ending complaints about being tired were certainly not exaggerated. Not even in the slightest. Bringing a new life into this world, pretty much means sacrificing your own life for the foreseeable future. It also means sacrificing your own sanity. Yes you WILL become a walking zombie. Welcome to the ‘Do not know what day it is’ club. People often ask new parents whether their babies are sleeping through the…

SHOPPING. I always struggle for Christmas gift ideas for my toddlers so thought I would write a blog post that includes some wonderful, yet reasonably priced, gift ideas for…

It’s okay not to be okay

IT’S OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY – WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY It was December 2015. I had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of my first baby. Gia wasn’t due until 26th December, however, due to pregnancy complications I was booked in for an early induction on 3rd December. The date could not come quick enough. Nobody’s first birth story is ever that pleasant and mine had been a long and stressful pregnancy. From 30 wks, I had to report to hospital every 48hrs to be hooked up to machines to check that the blood flow through my placenta was okay. Basically, the worst case scenario meant that, should my blood…

    Top 5…Essential Baby Products

The Exhausted Mum’s Top 5…Essential Baby Products With so many products available on the market, trying to figure out what you need for your new bundle of joy is a bit of a minefield. I’ve put together a list (aside from all the standard products like cots/prams/clothes etc) of the things that I found super useful when my two daughters were born: 1.Breast Pump & Nipple Cream-If you’re planning on giving breastfeeding a go, then it’s a good idea to invest in an electronic breast pump.
