A Child-Free Weekend At The Park Plaza, Cardiff

This weekend, we managed to escape for a child-free weekend to Cardiff for my brothers 40th birthday celebrations (*Whoops excitedly*). I’m originally from Wales (incase anyone was ever in any doubt) so Cardiff is my old stomping ground. Cardiff, the Capital of Wales, is a Cosmopolitan City full of Welsh culture with an abundance of things to do for every generation. If you’ve not yet visited, it is a City that should most definitely be on your hit list! PARK PLAZA – LOCATION AND OVERVIEW Our first thoughts turned to where to stay overnight. We did our research and chose the Park Plaza which is a city centre hotel within…

Why The Exhausted Mum Recommends Smiffle.com For Personalised Photo Products

18 summers, that’s all we get until our precious children are officially adults. That seems like such a short amount of time, with so many special memories we have to capture. Everyone who knows me, or even those that don’t but who are interested in my blog and who follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, will know that I am forever trying to capture the moment. As a result and like most parents, I have HUNDREDS of photos of my children on my iPhone. It’s impossible to even put up a fraction of my favourite photos around my house as there simply wouldn’t be enough wall space, or it…

6 Reasons Why Parents Are Permanently Exhausted

Before I had children, I never understood how exhausting parenting would be. Of course, everyone has friends who had children before them, but let’s be perfectly honest, we still never completely appreciated how bloody exhausting it would be, or that their never-ending complaints about being tired were certainly not exaggerated. Not even in the slightest. Bringing a new life into this world, pretty much means sacrificing your own life for the foreseeable future. It also means sacrificing your own sanity. Yes you WILL become a walking zombie. Welcome to the ‘Do not know what day it is’ club. People often ask new parents whether their babies are sleeping through the…

    Reclaiming PPI

After having spent the majority of my redundancy money over the last year on everything I shouldn’t have, I have been thinking of easy ways I can make more money. Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) is designed to cover the monthly repayments of your loan or credit card, if you are made unemployed, have an accident, become sick or die. If you have previously been mis-sold PPI on any of your historic or current accounts, you could be due some serious compensation. THE 90’s During my younger years, I took out every credit card, store card and loan available to me. I always liked to live life outside of my means.…

I can hardly believe I’m writing this post, the last year seems to have gone by in the blink of an eye, but it will soon be CHRISTMAS. SHOPPING. I always struggle for Christmas gift ideas for my toddlers so thought I would write a blog post that includes some wonderful, yet reasonably priced, gift ideas for…

Guinot Hydradermie Lift Facial – Review

Guinot Hydradermie Lift Facial – Does it really work? As everyone may have noticed, I have been on a mission lately to take some time out for myself and I have been experimenting with the latest beauty treatments. After having two children in close succession, I naturally let my appearance slip for a while, but now I’m on a mission to get back to being me and taking care of myself. I recently tried Botox which is obviously slightly more invasive than regular beauty treatments. For anyone considering Botox, check out my recent blog post to find out all about the treatment including some before and after shots. The Guinot…

It’s okay not to be okay

IT’S OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY – WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY It was December 2015. I had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of my first baby. Gia wasn’t due until 26th December, however, due to pregnancy complications I was booked in for an early induction on 3rd December. The date could not come quick enough. Nobody’s first birth story is ever that pleasant and mine had been a long and stressful pregnancy. From 30 wks, I had to report to hospital every 48hrs to be hooked up to machines to check that the blood flow through my placenta was okay. Basically, the worst case scenario meant that, should my blood…
